What is the QMAC Challenge?

The QMAC Challenge is a national marketing competition and QMAC’s premier pre-conference event. At its core, Challenge is an immersive, multi-stage case competition that acts as a platform for the best young marketing minds to create and present actionable solutions to real business problems. We are excited to have Nestlé Canada as QMAC’s official Challenge partner this year. Nestlé is the largest food and beverage company in the world and makes over 60 well-known local and global brands. This year’s competition, however, will primarily focus on the NESCAFÉ brand in Canada.

Challenge Bracket

Inspired by the NCAA March Madness college basketball tournament, Challenge will have a bracketed competition format pitting team against team and school against school. This re-vamped format will evoke emotional pride from representing your school and will also truly pit Canada’s top marketing programs and schools against each other. Round 1 will be open entry to students nationwide who meet the eligibility requirements outlined in the Official Challenge Rules. From that point on, the top 16 teams will be selected by Nestlé Canada and put into a ‘Sweet Sixteen’ bracket. Following the creation of the bracket, each team will then square off against 1 other team to advance to the ‘Elite Eight’, another team to advance to the ‘Final Four’, and finally have a head-to-head showdown in the ‘National Championship’ round. At each new stage of the bracketed competition, competitors will be faced with a new deliverable building on their ideas from previous rounds and culminating at the Queen’s Marketing Association Conference in January.

We are excited to announce that the Grand Prize for the winning team member(s) will be a paid internship at Nestlé Canada! In addition to this incredible Grand Prize, member(s) of teams that place in the top sixteen will all be awarded an interview with Nestlé Canada!
